The Black Swan Theatre Company will be presenting an exclusive live broadcast of "Switzerland" by Australian playwright Joanna Murray-Smith. For the past six years, Black Swan has shared an annual live broadcast with audiences from all over Western Australia.
Supported by Lotterywest, this will be the seventh annual broadcast where audiences can watch a "high-definition live performance" of Joanna Murray-Smith's Switzerland, which will be beamed directly from the State Theatre Centre of WA into community resource centres, living rooms and regional and metro venues across our state.
This is inspired by writer, Patricia Highsmith, (one of the best-selling crime novelists of the 20th century) who lives a reclusive life in the Swiss Alps surrounded by her collection of books and antique weapons. She is facing the end of her life and has withdrawn completely from the world, &

But then one day a young man, Edward Ridgeway, stumbles into her place of "hiding". He is yet another irritating delegate from her publisher, demanding a contract for one &

This was a winner of the Best New Australian Work at the Sydney Theatre Awards (2014), and has been picked up and produced by almost every state theatre company in the country, and now you will have a chance to see this interesting booby-trapped plot, with its tense and furious "battle of wills and words".
