This postbox sits high up inside the Black Mountain Telstra Tower, and it's unsurprisingly the highest postbox in Canberra. It's not just there for its good looks, if you pop a letter inside it will actually get posted. In fact the postbox is emptied at 10am Monday to Friday.
It's actually a vintage postbox from the early 1900's, and is one of the earliest styles of postboxes found in Australia.
If you do choose to send your mail via the Black Mountain post box then it will even get a special "Telecom Tower" postmark. It's a novelty that's likely to wear off quickly, especially when you've got to pay the Tower entry fee just to reach the box, but it's something that younger kids will find pretty cool.
