Enjoy a classic cake flavour without the guilt
Marie Antoinette was reported to have said "Let them eat cake". My response is "Yes, please". A good way to enjoy the goodness of cake, but without the excess fat and sugar is in the convenient form of a smoothie made with fruits and veggies. Remarkably, a Black Forest Cake smoothie tastes like its cake namesake and is a refreshing post-workout beverage or a delighful afternoon snack and pick-up.
This smoothie makes two servings.
2 cups frozen cherries
3 cups water handful of kale or greens of choice 1 cup mango 1 tsp vanilla 1 cup of cooked quinoa or oats (or 1/2 cup of each) 3 tbsp cocoa 4 dates
splash of agave or honey depending on sweetness preference
Blend well in blender. Enjoy!
