A year or so ago, I read an article in the paper about a Melbourne teenager who loved doughnuts so much that he decided to open his very own doughnut shop while still in high school! Morgan Hipsworth has since gone on to become a successful entrepreneur and owner of Bistro Morgan - a cute little doughnut shop in Windsor.
So I was super happy when I finally got the chance to pop in and try one of Morgan's doughnuts which I had been seeing on Instagram for ages. It was late afternoon when we arrived but to my surprise, all the flavours were still there. So after much contemplation, I finally settled on the Coconut Lemon Cheesecake doughnut and the Cookie Monster with birthday cake batter filling was also chosen by my companion.
And I am happy to say that Morgan's doughnuts didn't disappoint at all! My brioche doughnut was filled with a zesty lemon curd filling and covered with a cheesecake glaze, coconut flakes and crunchy biscuit crumb. It was the perfect combination of zest and sweetness with added crunchiness, making for a divine doughnut and visit!
