Dinner Date at Bistro Guillaume, Crown
A few weeks ago, I dined at Guillaume, an award winning French restaurant located at Crown. I had a satisfying three-course dinner that lasted for two whole hours with my partner. This restaurant has also been featured in many newspapers and magazines i.e. Sunday Herald Sun and Harper's Bazaar.

We sat below the luminous curtain-like lamp that resembled inverted gigantic champagne roses and had a good view of both the interiors of the restaurant and the riverside walk of Crown.



Like most restaurants, complimentary bread, butter and sea salt were presented to us before dinner started. They were simple looking but nevertheless delicious.



The French Onion Soup in my opinion was a little disappointing when I compare it to the ones I had in Paris.

Our appetiser, smoked salmon with brioche was so good that we wished there were more!

I have always been a fan of caesar salad and this definitely surpassed my expectations. Some restaurants are stingy in their ingredients / portion but Guillame's serving was generous and rich in variety. Besides the mandatory dressing, crunchy croutons, boiled egg and leafy lettuce, we were pleasantly surprised by the amount of tasty chicken and bacon in the salad.

The chicken main was roasted perfectly, its texture was smooth and the meat was tender.

The whole baby snapper was gigantic. Its flavour was further enhanced by the cubed tomatoes and herbs. This would definitely be appealing to those with big appetites.

A meal will not be complete without desserts. This dessert was amazingly yummy. Strawberry sorbet and real rhubarb pieces seated in the middle of sweet vanilla rice pudding which melts in your mouth.
