The Perth CBD is full of plenty of nooks and crannies for wanderers and workers alike to seek refuge from the hustle and bustle surrounding them. Bishops Gardens down the west end of town is one such place.

Like a mini-forest in the CBD, the gardens are sandwiched on a small pocket of land between Lamont's Bishops House, Mounts Bay Road and Sprint Street.

The gardens were established way back in 1890. These days the Georgian Manor is a high-end restaurant and bar which makes use of the gardens with an outdoor bar fronting onto the greenery.

Stepping through the understated gates off Mounts Bay Road, the traffic noises are instantly muted as rustling leaves and chirping birds take over.

There's a towering thick canopy with lush green undergrowth, giving you those instant forest vibes office workers may be seeking to switch off for a few minutes during the work day.

For those who like exploring the city, the park may be small, but it has enough twists and turns to make it worth a quick stopover while passing by.

For photographers, there are a few interesting sculptures, fauna, the open space and of course the gorgeous Georgian manor up the top of the hill.
