The world's most remote music festival, the Birdsville Big Red Bash is back from 2 to 4 July 2024 bringing music and memories for those wanting entertainment with a difference.
There's nothing in the world like it. A music festival in the middle of the desert. Birdsville is situated between the eastern edge of the Simpson Desert, the plains of Sturt’s Stony Desert to the south and rich Channel Country to the north.
Having started in 2013 the 3-day festival continues to attract travellers and entertainers with a sensational selection of talent. This year's lineup features some of the who's who of the Australian music scene with stages welcoming recognised and experienced performers including:
Tina Arena
Former Noiseworks and INXS frontman, Jon Stevens
Former Cold Chisel guitarist and solo singer, Ian Moss
Former Men At Work vocalist, Colin Hay
Former Split Enz frontman Tim Finn
Mark Seymour from Hunters and Collectors
Richard Clapton
Former Goanna frontman, Shane Howard and man many more.
When you are not singing along to the bands, sliding down the red sand dunes is another favourite activity. Last year, the Festival also broke the World Record for the most participants dancing to Tina Turner's hit song, Nutbush City Limits at the one time with 5,838 people strutting their stuff on the dusty red dance.
Tickets for the Big Red Bash range from $19 to $729.00 and give you entry to the 3 days and nights of music (Tuesday 2nd to Thursday 4th July), and on-site camping for up to 7 nights (from Saturday 29th June to Friday 5th July), depending on which Vehicle Entry Pass you purchase.
Some 10,000 festival goers will be heading to the event. Will you be one of them?
