Voted one of the Islands Most Romatic Places - copyright Birds of a Feather
The B&B rests on a lagoon laden with the wildlife that Vancouver Island has become so famous for. Feathers rooms are fluffed & ready to take couples or families with over 50 honeymooners making it their place to come back to year after year. The rooms are furnished in the finest comfortable leather chairs & beds made of clouds*. At the beginning of the day, feast of the Feathers owner/cook/man about town's well known breakfasts & at the end of it, lay back in your soaker tub & listen to the birds in the lagoon.
In addition to the beautifully appointed rooms & sumptuous breakfasts (you can steal the recipes direct from the website to take home with you!) they also offer Island tours - Dieter can take you whale watching as well as make up your sound proofed honeymoon suite, which incidentally has 270 degree water views. The private zodiac tours also run about the Gulf Islands - the winter cousin of the Whitsunday Islands here in Australia - make sure you get Dieter to take you to the Saltspring Island markets - the local craftmanship extends from cheeses, leather goods to buttons, candle wax & hand crafted just about everything.
If the water is not your thing, the Eco-Tours in their Hummer can tour Vancouver Island's vineyards, many of which are off the beaten path or cheese and chocolate yourself out on this island of tasty treats. Visit the sea-side village of Cowichan Bay. Loose count of the native totem poles throughout the city of Duncan, and admire the murals of Chemainus. Check out the goats living on the roof of the Coombs market, or stare at 800 year old Douglas Firs in awe.
If that's all too much - hang out in your magnificent rooms and if you do have to go outside, just hop into one of the B&B's kayaks and gently poke about the lagoon, admiring the birds & skies of Vancouver Island.
