Don't blow your valves over radio history
Where can you find a shop that specialises in antique valve radios?

Well, this place has been established for ten years, and is run by Peter and Leanne.

Peter has a long history in electronics, commencing in 1966 with a Cadetship in Aviation. He now does complete radio restorations and has the best collection of radios that one could hope to find!

There seems to be a resurgence in the the use of radiograms and the use of vinyl. It can be imagined that interest in retro fashion and interior design in recent years could be responsible.

Peter advises, as is the opinion of some musicians, that valves produce a 'warmer' sound than modern electronic devices.

Some Melbourne's' prewar radio companies include Radio Corporation Astor (RCA), Healing and Eclipse. Sydney had Thornberg, Carlson, and AWA.

Radio in Australia was the great in home entertainment until 1956 when the big push came for television with the approach of the Olympics held in Melbourne.
