If you want to actively participate in the BioBlitz, there will be organised walks and talks where you can observe, record and learn about the local flora and fauna. Take a look through the list of free sessions online by clicking here and register for any you would like to attend. Make sure you don't book sessions that overlap each other.
If you book for a session, you need to arrive at least 20-minutes before your first activity, to sign-in. Many of the sessions involve walking on soft ground so make sure you dress appropriately with tight fitting shoes. Thongs are not appropriate.
Or you can just stop by, as from 9.00am – 7.30pm there will be wildlife on display, searches for fish, bats, birds, and invertebrates, plus spotlighting and an Aboriginal astronomy session. You might find a banjo frog, a congolli, a cormorant or a rainbow fish!
How to get there: Head to the West Torrens Baseball Club, enter from Netley Avenue, Lockleys (near Adelaide Airport).
There is plenty of parking available at Lockleys Oval -consider carpooling, walking, riding, or catching a bus to the event. Bus Stop 17 (Stop code 16451) on Henley Beach Road is about a 5 minute walk from Netley Avenue.
