Food and words.

Bindarra Reserve is right on the Brighton Beachfront, and has got fun for children of all ages. Head here after a day at the beach, or after grabbing a family breakfast at one of the great cafes on Brighton's Jetty Road.

The Playground at Bindarra Reserve is its main feature. It is a fun playground that resembles a ship, a very suitable form for it to take being on the beachfront. There are also smaller rockers or bouncers that take the shape of small sea creatures surrounding the main play area, everything in the playground fits into a sea theme. On the playground there are slides, swings, tunnels, and games for children to play with. It has got fun activities for children of all ages.

The best feature of the playground, hands down, is its wheelchair accessibility. There is a ramp that leads up to the play equipment, that wheelchairs can go up to get to the top of the playground. This also fits in with the ship theme, and all children will love playing on it. The playground is raised abnormally high, and this is great because it means that wheelchairs can easily fit underneath. Children in wheelchairs can play at this part and participate with all of the games that the other children are playing. The only improvement that could be made was if there was also a wheelchair swing.

You can also enjoy your time at the park by playing ball games. There is a reasonable sized bit of grass that would be great for playing a friendly game of soccer, or having a kick of the footy. There are also paths running through the park, which means that it would be a good place to bring younger children on their bicycles.

Bindarra Reserve is also somewhere to stop if you want to have a spot of lunch. If you bring your own picnic along you can set up a blanket on the grass, or make use of the available picnic tables. There is also a barbecue at the park, so you're able to cook up some hot food if you want to. If you don't want to eat at the park then Jetty Road, Brighton is only a short walk away and there are plenty of places to grab some food here.

Overall Bindarra is a great small park, especially if you have any wheelchair bound children. It has lovely views of the sea, and is in a good location. Bring the whole family along here next time you're in the area.
