Inaugurated in 2009 the Billycart Markets is the brainchild of creator Melanie Grace. Tired and exasperated by the generic, mass produced children's products on sale at the Targets and Toys'R'Us of this world, Melanie harnessed that energy to create these fabulous boutique markets which specialise in unique offerings for children.

Held in a quaint church yard in the seaside suburb of Sandgate, these markets make a great day out for the family. Mums can shop and kids will be entertained with facepainting, games, and live music by Boppin' Babies.
There is a long list of stallholders and with an emphasis on homemade, handmade and homegrown you can be assured of finding something unique and precious. Check out this gorgeous Tea Set & Carry Case from Little Princess Went to Market and stuffed companions from Sunshine Dolls - or perhaps a classic Paddington Bear from AnoukAnoo is more to your child's taste.
Described by creator as "retro chic and vintage hip", the range of offerings extends beyond clothing and fashion, to jewellery, toys, maternity and baby ware, and culinary temptations; the result is high quality items bought to you by artisans, designers and craftspeople. Look out for the gorgeous ethical apparel by Doodlebug, creators of this basic onesie made with bamboo.
The next market date is set for Saturday, September 15th. Dolly Varden's Coffee, Tea, Nice Eats will be there serving refreshments and homemade gingerbread cookies. Wood fired pizza by Fire'N'Dough and Dumpling Envy are on hand to refuel, and if you'd like something to take home try a 6 pack of Zoe's Brownies - varieties include Cookies & Cream, Macadamia, M&M and Salted Caramel - YUM!!!
