Bill O'Shea's Studio Gallery

While staying in Dubbo, I surveyed the various flyers and brochures at the motel and came across one that interested me. It was late in the afternoon, and I'd done my bike ride around the
Dubbo Zoo , and wanting to keep exploring the city, but not doing too much more physical exercise, I was excited to find details of a highly recognised Australian artist William (Bill) O'Shea.
The flyer had photos of
Bill some of his artworks, which feature Australian scenery – and I was keen to see more, so I set off on the short drive from the centre of town to his Gallery, which is in the garage at his home.
There was another visitor in the Gallery at the time, and we all were involved in conversations about Australian art, and his history. Bill spoke of his love of painting old buildings, and many are featured in his artwork. There are a lot of Australian country scenes too, as well as a variety of animals and other items. He has a great sense of humour and has done some funny works!
He has chosen to work from home and use his garage as his exhibition place. He painted the garage door too – with just a few challenges with the uneven surface!
It's well worth a visit to the Gallery if you are near Dubbo, or passing through
