A fun family bicycle ride through the Swan Valley starting and finishing at Lilac Hill Park (North Pavilion), West Swan Road, Caversham.

There are 10km, 20km and 30 km circular route options. The route is well signed with marshals at strategic points, and riders will be followed by the 'sag wagon' if they need assistance. It is mostly flat on quiet rural back streets and dual use bike path.

In addition to the ride, there will be a Dr Bike Clinic where essential bike skills, safety, maintenance and ways to make riding your bike more efficient and easy, are explained.

Riding a bike shouldn't be hard work, and the tips you will learn at the bike clinic are bound to help you. Most people will learn something new.

There is also an historical bicycle and Penny Farthing display. Enjoy the sight of Penny Farthings from years gone by.

Swan Valley/Gidgegannup Ward Councillor, Darryl Trease, said "These are quite a sight and it's interesting to see how far bicycles have come."

Riders are invited to bring a picnic lunch or buy lunch at the sausage sizzle.

For the younger family members, there will be a Cuddly Animal Farm for interactive fun with lots of farm animals.

The event is free and is presented by the City of Swan as part of the Autumn Festival and supported by Lotterywest.

The ride starts and finishes at Lilac Hill Park (North Pavilion), West Swan Road, Caversham on Sunday, April 28.
Registration starts at 9am and there will be a presentation with important pre-ride information at 9.45am. The ride starts at 10am
