Well, if the almost obnoxiously perfect weather, chirpy birds, and the sound of the other half mowing the backyard weren't enough of a giveaway, you'll be 100% sure spring has sprung if you head along to Grovely State School's Big Spring Thing 2016.
This year's Big Spring Thing 2016 isn't just celebrating the changing of the season. Grovely State School is also celebrating its 60th anniversary. There are sure to be some excited alumni and families with more than one generation of Grovely old boys and girls in the midst of the revellers, and with free entry to the event on Saturday 8th October, there's reason to be ecstatic. Of course, you will need to bring your wallet for the fun and games that await once you're inside.
Carnival Rides to Deliver Laughs, Screams and Excitement
Crowds of all ages will thrill to the carnival rides, boogie to the beats in buskers' corner which will showcase some of Brisbane's finest talent, and find treats galore at the fete stalls from 2pm to 9pm. Of course, there will be plenty of tasty treats to eat from the food vans, and if you feel your energy flagging toward the 9pm end of proceedings, you can even perk yourself up with a delicious cup of coffee. Plus, there will be a historical display celebrating the last 60 years at Grovely.
But wait... there's more! Did someone say 'fireworks'? Oh yes, indeed there will be a little extra bang for your buck during the evening, when those colourful explosions that make us all, "Ooh" and "Aah" will light up the night sky.
