The Cairns Indigenous Art Fair's touring exhibition, Big Sculpture is coming to the river city as part of the Brisbane Festival bringing a collection of authentic and meaningful cultural works.
The Cairns Art Indigenous Fair supports maximising the innovation and impact of Queensland First Nations in the arts sector including artists, performers, designers and creatives across visual art, dance, music, fashion, symposiums and so much more. Now in its 15th year, the three-day Fair was held from 25 to 28 July in Cairns.
Now you can see a selection of CAIFs' traditional works in the new Exhibition, Big Sculpture on display at the Brisbane Powerhouse from 2 September to 6 October 2024.

Big Sculpture will be touring Brisbane as part of the 2024
Brisbane Festival - an annual, international public Arts Festival event. The festival describes the exhibition as promising
"a thought-provoking and visually stunning experience, celebrating the richness of First Nations artistry in Queensland."
The free large-scale exhibition will showcase major commissioned works by participating First Nations artists Shirley Macnamara, Brian Robinson, Rhonda Woolla, Ian Waldron, Alma Norman, Dr. David Jones, Mavis Benjamin, Marlene Norman, Toby Cedar, and Hans Ahwang.
Visit the Big Sculpture exhibition in the Fairfax Studio + Turbine Platform at Brisbane Powerhouse to immerse yourself in traditional art. The exhibition is open from 9 am til late, 7 days a week.

The Brisbane Powerhouse is a Brisbane contemporary art centre located on Lamington Street, New Farm (beside New Farm Park). The Centre and is accessible by private and most forms of public transport. New Farm is a city-edge suburb, just 3 kilometres from the Central Business District.
