Arts Centre Melbourne reopens on 27 June 2020 and welcomes back Victorians to the Theatres Building under the iconic spire in time for the winter school holidays. The first part of the staged reopening will begin with the opening of their outdoor cafe, Protagonis. New experiences will be available for audiences to explore their spaces safely, including self-guided tours, unique dining options, the Australian Music Vault exhibition and Ghostly Machines (pictured below); an astounding technology experience in Hamer Hall.
It showcases the venue's massive lighting rigging that hovers over the stage in an automated choreographed dance created, scripted and programmed by Arts Centre Melbourne's own production and lighting teams. A range of public health, hygiene and physical distancing measures will be in place at the Arts Centre. The car park will continue to be open to the public but can now be booked online via the website.
