Free entry plus 160 designers under one roof
For those who missed out on the final Finders Keepers market in October, the organisers from The Big Design Market are showcasing 160 independent designers at this large indoor market spread across 3 huge days.
The designers are based locally and overseas so expect lots of variety in the design offerings. Besides coming to the design market with an appreciation of aesthetics, there will be some unique items focusing on ethical production and sustainability. Good design and originality is also important for designers. A list of the designers can be found here.
You will find an endless selection of goods for the home, handmade toys, vintage clothing, jewellery, pottery, papercraft, books, photography and so much more.
The Big Design Market is held in the majestic Royal Exhibition Building. The abundance of space ensures that the event will be kid and pram friendly. There will be gourmet food and drink choices such as from Miss Chu, Earl Canteen, Taco Trucks, and 2Brothers microbrewery just to name a few.
There are no ATM facilities inside the Royal Exhibition itself. Some stallholders will have portable credit card merchant facilities but others will operate on a cash-only basis.
Entry is free. There will also be a major draw worth over $1000 by subscribing to their newsletter.
It is a perfect event to stock up for Christmas or other gift occasions. Otherwise if you have a passion for the arts and design, come along for a visit to get inspired for your own work. Networking opportunities is another possibility.
