Grunge is Back- For a Day
Alas I am no longer in my twenties and heading out of my thirties but I still love a good music festival. With Pearl Jam as one of the headliners for The Big Day Out 2014 I am grappling with indecision as to whether I should attend the BDO and risk looking like a sad old rock chick or leave the last remaining tickets for the young and trendy to appreciate a band reminiscent of my youth.
In any event, whatever I decide the BDO will be BIG. The line up includes Blur, Arcade Fire, Snoop Dog aka Snoop Lion, Tame Impala and much, much more.
It's not just the music that I love about the BDO but the whole summer festival vibe. The Gold Coast Parklands where the event is held, is transformed with market stalls selling everything from the ubiquitous band t shirts to local arts and crafts and of course, the international food stalls that range from' keeping the hunger at bay' to an all out gourmet feast.
Tickets are still available and can be bought online at www.bigdayout.com and to make travelling to the BDO easy peasy the following options are available once you purchase your ticket:-
