Free, family fun day at South Bank
Endeavour Foundation, one of Queensland's oldest charities, was founded in 1951 by a group of mothers who refused to accept their intellectually disabled children could not be educated. Fast forward to 2012. This independent, not-for-profit organisation provides accommodation, respite, education, training, and employment for more than 3,400 people with a disability, in 230 locations in Queensland and New South Wales.
For the second year in a row, the Endeavour Foundation would like to thank the community for their support - with a Big Community Day Out. This free, family friendly, fun day will take place on Saturday, October 13, 2012 from 12pm to 8pm, at South Bank's Cultural Forecourt.
Hosted by celebrity MC Richard Champion (Brisbane Bears/Lions), there will be food and market stalls, live music, dance performances, kid's activities, and more. The musical line-up includes local favourites The Lamplights and Kelsie Rimmer (The Voice), just to name a few. Street Groove (SG) Hiphop Dance Circle, from the University of Queensland, will be popping, breaking, and hip hopping.
