With Mental Health month (Oct) upon us, Big Blue Table events across the country are about to kick off. If you haven't already, register to host before 6 October and you could win 1 of 3 $500 Mastercard gift cards. Sign up here to win! How it works is, you join Big Blue Table and raise funds and awareness for mental health. Whether you're hosting an extra long lunch in the office, having a picnic in the park, or whatever other creative event you've come up with, each meal you have can lead to life-changing conversation. You'll be sent a free host kit with conversation starters, decorations and more to help you host the ultimate Big Blue Table. Get your friends over for a meal and start a conversation about mental health. It's a good time to create a pleasant and safe place to get real with mates, and encourage them to donate whatever they can to help Beyond Blue's 24/7 Support Service. If you've never done this before, what a great way to experience the generous effort you'll put in for a very worthy cause and those in need.
Every dollar you raise helps Beyond Blue keep up with the growing demand for its support service, which says a lot. They provide free, confidential and immediate counselling with a trained counsellor 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via phone, webchat, and email. None of this would be possible without the support of the Big Blue Table Community. Beyond Blue are totally reliant on community donations and your participation means they can be there for all people in Australia. Mental health is such an important issue, with an estimated 45% of people in Australia facing a mental health condition in their lifetime. And remember, Beyond Blue is always available to you too, if you're seeking support for your own mental health or you're supporting someone going through a tough time. It's not always an easy road, and you don't have to travel it alone, whether for yourself or a loved one. It's time to break the stigma around mental health and make hard conversations easy-peasy, so bring your support to the table this Mental Health Month.
