Since 2000, Big Bike Day has been the Grand Finale of the family friendly NSW Bike Week held annually every September. This year, Big Bike Day is being held on Sunday 25th September and is going to be heaps of free fun.

If you don't regularly hop on your bike, rediscover your love of cycling at this event filled, week-long festival. NSW Bike Week sets off on Saturday 17th September and includes plenty of free events and courses suited to everyone from absolute beginner to accomplished riders. In addition, there is an exciting raffle where you can win yourself a brand new bike.

In the lead up to Big Bike Day, get your legs moving during the Cooks River Family Fun Ride on Sunday 18th September 2016 from 9am to 12noon. Starting in Steel Park, 531 Illawarra Road, Marrickville at 9am, the guided ride will take you along the Cooks River; relaxed and friendly with a perfect view to boot. There is a 2-hour 16km ride or a 30 minute 5km ride. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration opens at 9am on the day.

Big Bike Day is being held on Sunday 25th September 2016 and there is plenty of fun for all. See the BMX workshop and stunt shows courtesy of the Big Air School. Enjoy a free, innovative and delicious pedal-powered smoothie thanks to Bike n' Blend. There will be a bike skills workshop suited to all ages and free bike maintenance checks. Don't miss out on your chance to Try-a-Bike or take a unicycling lesson, or even decorate your bike, all for free. Extra activities include a rock climbing wall, obstacle course, live music and entertainment, face painting and don't forget the huge raffle you could win a brand new bike, all thanks to the Inner West Council.

Best of all, lunch including coffee by Nomadic Cafe and other beverages are being catered for free.

Entry and activities featured at Big Bike Day are all completely FREE and you should bring your own bike so you can participate in the guided 6km ride around the LGA.
