Riding a bicycle is a cheap and healthy way to experience Perth and surrounds whether it is for leisure purposes or getting to work. Perth is reasonably flat with an accessible network of cycleways and Principal Shared Paths. So it makes sense to have bicycle repair stations dotted about, which are free for anyone to use.
Repair stations are popping up everywhere. The stations help give riders the confidence that if they are out and about and something goes wrong with their bike, there are facilities available at the new stations to help you get back 'on the road', if you have the knowledge to fix it, that is.
The new station in Aveley is located on the corner of Flecker Promenade and Egerton Drive. The City of Swan is yet to update its website with any repair stations as they are so new, so if you know where any others are in the area, please comment below so we can all take advantage of them. Other shires have been using repair stations for a few years. You can click here for the locations.
The station has the facility to safely secure your bicycle whilst carrying out the repair and is equipped with various tools you'll need for minor repairs including screwdrivers, wrenches and a few other tools whose purpose I'm unsure of. There is also a foot pump and a pressure gauge to assist with proper inflation.
