This reserve has abundant activities for all types of people, along with easy access for wheelchairs and prams due to its sloping paths rather than steps. It's a great place to kick start an active lifestyle as there is a 6km cycle and walking path around the whole lake, with clear markings all the way round. There is also a great adventure playground for the children, where you can always here screams of excitement. However it is quite near the road which you will need to be aware of.

There is also an ice cream van by the playground to provide ice creams, hot chips and hot drinks after everyone works up an appetite. However the reserve has great barbeque facilities and picnic benches if you wish to provide for yourselves. Toilet facilities and an onsite car park are available too.
The reserve has a thriving bird population of ducks, swamp hens, swans and many others. If you are a keen bird watcher or just want a tranquil setting then head over to the other side of the lake to the bird hide which is on a floating pontoon.
You're guaranteed to hear a chorus of frogs whilst up there, and if you are an early bird yourself then you can go down in the early hours and watch the mist clear over the lake. You are also welcome to bring your own nature down to the reserve as it is dog friendly.
