Gifts galore at Caloundra Arts Centre
Caloundra Arts Centre Association Inc. (C.A.C.A.) holds two Fairs every year. These Fairs have become an integral part of the Centre and occur on the long weekend in June and the second weekend in November.
The first Arts & Crafts Fair for 2015 will be held on Saturday 6th June, from 9am - 4pm and Sunday 7th June, from 9am - 3pm. C.A.C.A currently has 18 different Arts and Crafts groups with around 500 members. Craft groups include: painters (expressive art, folk art, oil, acrylic, water, porcelain, and silk), pastellists, embroiderers, lace makers, needlepoint/tapestry makers, potters, quilters, spinners & weavers, stitchers, and textile/fibre artists.
The Fair gives its members the opportunity to sell their hand crafted items, as well as provide additional funds to maintain and update the building and equipment. Above all, it is a wonderful way to demonstrate the diverse artistic talents of the C.A.C.A members to the general public.
Visit the 5 North Street Arts Centre in Caloundra during the June long weekend to find a huge array of unique handmade crafts and gifts including pottery, woodwork, original art and pastels, handmade lace, embroidery, jewellery and silk paintings. A wide range of handcrafted cards are also available. C.A.C.A. members have been extremely busy and creative producing these fine quality goods for the Fair.
If you enjoy seeing crafts at the markets, you will want to see the crafts produced by the members of C.A.C.A. Support your local community and purchase some genuine hand-made Australian products for yourself, family and friends.
Another highlight will be a sausage sizzle and cake stall, with many home-made goodies including sweets, slices, jams, yummy cakes, sandwiches and scones. There will also be a plant stall, pre-loved books and magazines for sale, as well as raffles and craft demonstrations throughout the weekend.
The stunning C.A.C.A Gift Gallery will also be open during the Fair and is another treasure trove of quality items for sale. The Gallery will open from 9am during the Fair. Entry to the Fair is free.
