It's worth the journey
This restaurant has been on Victoria Road for many years. I have eaten here a few times over the years and was looking forward to renewing my expectation of excellent food. I was not disappointed.

A row of roses lined the entrance drive.

A cosy corner.

We were quickly seated, the menu and a glass of water materialised quickly and our drinks order was taken.

A pleasant surprise was a complimentary serve of potato skins with cucumber dip and warm sourdough bread with black butter. Very tasty.

I was with a group of three with my wife and son for a birthday lunch.

After ordering, I went outside to take some more photos and was pleasantly surprised to see many planter boxes growing herbs. Even more surprising was someone from the kitchen, picking various herbs, probably garnishing for our lunch. Now, that is fresh.

Only one of us ordered an entrée, Duck Sausage. It was delicious as the two of us who didn't order an entrée had a taste.

The Slow Cooked Pork was the choice of myself and my son and it was so delicious and so tender. Yeringberg Lamb was the other dish ordered and the consumer of that dish declared it was the tastiest lamb she had ever eaten. I must increase my cooking skills.

Dessert time saw Poached Apple Frangipane and an Orange Chiboust being ordered.

Bianchet is situated in a vineyard and a winery. There is a cellar door on site for tastings and purchasing, but that is another story, or article.

I would call Bianchet a special occasion restaurant and after eating there you would wish for many special occasions.
