Event:
Allan Roberts book launch
Dr Glen Edwards, author of Beyond Dark Clouds.

Author, Dr Glen Edwards of Beyond Dark Clouds will will be conducting a series of engaging presentations that will provide motivation, self-determination and positive thinking, beginning at Victor Harbor Encounter Bay on 10th April and continuing through NSW regional areas. Details are set out below.

Dr Glen Edwards suffered a difficult childhood. After failing grade seven, he worked in various unskilled occupations, eventually entering the military and serving in Vietnam as a medic. On returning to Australia he was encouraged to leave the military and seek higher education. At 27 he completed leaving and matriculation and went on to complete a Nursing Degree, then BA and Psychology degree at Flinders University, studying full time and working part time to support his family.

He later graduated from the University of West Florida with a Masters in Special Education and from Kobe University, School of Medicine. Since then he has had a distinguished record in research, clinical work, lecturing and helping individuals who have PTSD and learning disabilities, travelling widely in the United States and Asia. The focus of his talk will be the challenges he has faced and overcome in his life, the benefits of education, and his endeavours to break down the stigma of mental illness.

Beyond Dark Clouds chronicles a compilation of honest, thought provoking, raw life stories by veterans and their families who continue to suffer immeasurably, and by those who have successfully met their post war challenges head on. The stories go far beyond the stress and trauma experienced on the various battle fields of war and conflict, extending into the numerous aspects of family life. Expertly constructed from hundreds of hours of interviews over several decades. Author Dr. Glen Edwards is himself a Vietnam Veteran.

At the coming events, copies of Beyond Dark Clouds will be available for signing by Dr. Glen Edwards. At the launches the book is subsidised by James Huff, a USA Navy Veteran of Desert Storm. It will be available for purchase for $49.95.

Beyond Dark Clouds can be purchased from the website at RRP $79.95 plus postage.
