Some people get married on the beach, in a park, in a backyard but this genuine open-air Aussie Cathedral will ensure fabulous photo opportunities. So whether you are looking for a unique place to worship or for your wedding then this cute open-air cathedral with great views out over the valley is just the spot. On our journey to the Channon markets, we had to stop off here to admire the concept and partake of the expansive view. Easy to see why it's named Inspiration Point.



This endearingly simple open-air cathedral was built in 1958 and is the site of many weddings I hear. And why not, with the weather we enjoy in northern NSW and such a majestic outlook, native plants and wildlife one can readily see that it offers a delightful backdrop for those special photos.



Frankly, I found the logs to be much more comfortable than some church pews I've sat in. Biggest issue would be with the distraction of such a vista one might miss some crucial point in the sermon. Or for those reluctant to attend the more traditional service, this could be the enticement to return to the fold.



Seems a wedding booking would start at $360 with flowers or organist costing more. Their website offers more photos of ceremonies and stunning sunsets, contacts to book and their prices. Or if just driving past, it's well worth the pause to soak up the local environment and views, entry is free and there are no doors to be locked.
