Following the success of their first branch at Rundle Street , Betty’s Burgers has opened another branch along The Parade at Norwood. It was quite popular with the locals, with a crowd beginning to arrive while we ate our meal.

The beef patty in their Noosa Classic Surf had a delectable charred flavour and the meat was not too dry. The battered prawns added extra texture to the burger and the crisp batter coating set off the flesh well. Completing the burger were tomatoes and lettuce for freshness and the restaurant’s own special sauce.

The crispy chicken patty in their Spicy Chicken had succulent flesh that was contrasted nicely by the crisp coating. Bacon added a hint of smokiness and the spiciness of the siracha mayonnaise should be suitable for most tastes. Spicy pickles provided a tangy flavour to the burger. Grilled chicken can be substituted for the crispy chicken for those wanting something healthier.

One of the non-burger dishes available, the lettuce in the Betty’s Garden Salad was crisp and flesh. A change of texture and flavour was provided by the cucumbers and tomatoes. Olives added a bit of a salty flavour. We thought that the red wine vinegar dressing could have a bit more tang. Protein like grilled chicken can be added for an extra cost for a more filling meal.

While we thought their Chips could be crispier, they were seasoned with the right amount of salt. Their Onion Rings were a joy to eat. They had a crunchy exterior and the slightly sweet taste that we expected. Though not seasoned with salt, they were tasty enough as-is.

The decor of the restaurant gave it a relaxed and casual feel. Customers have the choice of indoor or outdoor seating. Its location makes it convenient for visitors to Norwood looking for a place to enjoy burgers.
