It's Winter. It's cold. It's comfort food time!

What food do you crave for during winter?

Unlike Summer, Winter is so not judgmental. Tell us what food proved to be irresistible to you this winter? And where from?

Is it something naughty? Something greasy? Something healthy? Or something hot?

To get your thoughts going....

1. For many and especially me, I could not resist a big bowl of hearty noodle soup in winter. It is soul warming and almost therapeutic at the same time.

You can't go too wrong with a hearty tonkotsu ramen from Gumshara Ramen this winter. This is one of the best authentic ramen in Sydney. The rich pork marrow soup is totally satisfying on a cold rainy day. Ramen Ikkyu is another fantastic Japanese ramen house nearby. Or if you ventured out to North Shore, give Ryo's Noodles a go. Judging from the queue, the ramen can't be too bad.

A hearty bowl of therapeutic Vietnamese pho will set everything right this Winter. Pho Gia Hoi is a popular choice on the weekend. Madame Nhu is a newly established Vietnames Noodle Shop & Bar located at Surry Hills. Their pho is quite good and it gets quite busy at night.

2. How can I go pass the Italian classics?

A bubbly melting cheese lasagna or a hearty bowl of Ragu pasta will make anyone happy in this Winter. They are hearty, old classics and something that always reminds me my nonna.

If you opted for dining out, Neutral Bay Bar & Diner is a pretty good choice for hearty Italian meal at a fixed set price. Take a food tour and eat your way around Italy. Or try the Red Zucchini which is a good homely Italian restaurant in Cremorne. I also like Buffalo Dining Club at Darlinghurst.

3. Mexican is the new favorite this winter. The sight of a hearty chili con carne is enough to make many drool.

Try a Nacho Supreme with fresh Mejico-style guacamole - it is the perfect Winter snack/meal.

Spanish tapas also get a vote for me. Salty, addictive and perfect for Winter.

4. Yes, it's winter and I want my carbs!

Carbs have never looked so appealing! The crispy crunch golden fries; the warm toasted sourdough; or the dumpling carb darlings as shown in the photo . For takeaway, SeaBay's steamed dumplings are pretty awesome.

5. Winter means red.

Hot spicy food get my appetite going. That hint of chili or various spices just make this cold Winter bearable.

Yes.... Curry or Laksa please!

Malay Chinese, Alice's and Sayong are some of the famed laksa houses in Sydney.

6. Or anything deep fried..

I could not resist that golden alluring crunchy fried snacks... let it be a giant chicken schnitzel from Dove & Olive ; or fried chicken from Mad fo' Chicks Korean or those crispy battered tempura from Menya Mappen Noodle Bar

Home made salt and pepper pork chops are always popular. Watch them disappear in minutes. If you are after a lighter snack, these marinated popcorn chicken will be adored by adults and kids. Mind you, they are so addictive!

What are your favorite Winter foods?
