Ten Minutes by Tractor
Some of the best wineries in Australia are located on the Mornington Peninsula. With over 50 cellar doors on the Peninsula it's no wonder the wine from the region is excelling internationally and winning many awards.
With so many wineries, restaurants and cellar doors to choose from, I wanted to share my top three picks with you.
In no particular order they are:

has been a long time favourite of mine with Max's restaurant, this multi award winning winery will win the hearts of the most discerning critics.
The amazing views across the vineyards towards the water of Western Port are quite simply stunning.
Red Hill Estate
Red Hill Estate is the perfect place for a marriage proposal, wedding, anniversary, or any special occasion. It has a wonderful atmosphere if not, romantic feel about it. The food is always excellent with great wine to match. You really can't go wrong with Red Hill Estate.

and Salix Restaurant is another superb property, located in Merricks North. An extremely popular winery with lovely views over the vineyard. Salix restaurant is refined and comfortable with knowledgeable staff. The menu has a good variety of fresh and interesting dishes. Last time I visited I could not fault the pan seared scallops for entrée or the chocolate pudding for dessert. The main was small and I would have expected more, however the quality was excellent.
Weddings are very popular at Willow Creek Estate, and it's not difficult to see why. My sister and brother in law held their reception at Salix and it was the most enjoyable wedding I have attended.
Willow Creek also have a less formal cellar door cafe which flows onto a deck overlooking the vineyard, perfect in summer.
I must also mention
Box Stallion. Many argue that Box Stallions wines are the best on the Peninsula, with great food to match.
