[ADVERT]For years, bars in Brisbane have been catering to university students newfound sense of freedom, their love to socialize, and their passion for drinking. This resulted in going out no longer being limited to Friday and Saturday nights. Here are descriptions of the most popular bars/clubs/hotels in Brisbane from Monday to Thursday night. Which will you choose?
Monday Night - Sling Bar, West End Monday is the quietest night of the week in Brisbane, suggesting that many bars could have secret specials unseen on regular nights. The Sling Bar is a gorgeous cocktail bar in West End, known for their expensive cocktails – their million dollar baby cocktail is $100! However, on a Monday night, they have special list of $10 cocktails. So if you are in the mood for a classy drink for once but do not have much money, go to Sling on a Monday night and enjoy a delicious cocktail.
Tuesday Night - The Down Under Bar, City
If it's a Tuesday night and you are feeling quite energetic and keen for an entertaining night, go to the Down Under Bar. Nicknamed the Dunder, this seedy bar is popular on a Tuesday as it is Ladies Night. This means there are cheap drinks, the occasional lady-boy contest, and a male stripper. Bring along a birthday girl so she can receive a special dance, but leave your conservative friends at home.
Wednesday Night - The Royal Exchange Hotel, Toowong Who would think an ancient pub next to the train station would be classed as a trendy hang out spot? Well due to their four dollar basic spirits and being the closest pub to the University of Queensland, the Royal Exchange Hotel is often overloaded with eager drinkers. However, this is not a place to wear your heels and not much else; after all, it is a pub, based outside, full of college kids in tracksuit pants. Also be weary that the security guards may kick you out for doing nothing wrong/being too big.
Conveniently located in the city, the Embassy Hotel is the place to go on a Thursday night. With free entry, cheap drink cards and many DJ competitions, it makes for a cheery night out - not to mention you will be guaranteed to be in some happy snaps, thanks to the resident photographer. The best thing about the Embassy is that if you aren't having fun, you can always go other bars in the city, which may also have events on a Thursday.
