There's no right or wrong answer on what you believe is the best way to find love. Some people prefer to pursue love, take the bull by the horns and try a variety of methods available to us in this modern day and age. Others, like myself, prefer to sit back and wait dreaming of the day their perfect partner waltzes into their lives.
Our needs, wants, lifestyle, likes and dislikes are unique and each of these factors play a crucial part in determining what we believe about love and what's the best way to find it.
Unfortunately, there aren't many of us that find true love the way movies like Titanic, The Notebook and the classic Romeo and Juliet depict, so for that reason you may decide to pursue love through some of the following ways rather than sitting back and waiting for it.
#1 Online Dating Thanks to modern technology, online dating appears to be the number one way in which people find love. Top Australian dating sites like RSVP and eHarmony help you find compatible matches. Registration is free though to gain use
of the full site services you will be charged a fee. There are some free online dating sites that don't appear to have hidden fees like Oasis Active. The major downside to finding love through online dating is the cost and honesty factor. First and foremost, I don't fancy forking out hundreds of dollars in my search for true love and secondly, you never really know if the person you're connecting with is truly who they say they are. I've heard some horror stories about people using false profile pictures or ones that are twenty years old. On the other hand you can't really put a price on true love and testimonials on the dating sites prove that people have indeed found love through this method.
#2 Singles Events
Singles events like speed dating and group dinners appear to be a somewhat safer way to find love. The advantage of attending singles events is the increased ratio of single people which greatly improves your chances of meeting someone you're compatible with. Additionally, group dating is certainly less confronting than one-on-one. The only real downside I can find with finding love through singles events is the cost, which can amount to quite a bit if you're attending numerous events.
Another way to find love is to join a group doing something you love. It could be a sport, club, exercise group, etcetera (some people have been known to find love at their local gym). The plus side is that even if you don't find love through this method, you'll have fun trying while doing something you love.
Other ways in which people find love is through family, friend and work connections. Newspaper advertisements are fairly popular and there are a few lucky (or unlucky) ones that find love through popular television shows like Farmer Wants a Wife and The Bachelor.
