If you love enjoying the beauty of the Opera House but are searching for a good place to see it from a whole new perspective, this is the walk for you.

Start by fueling up for your trek at the scenic Opera Bar. It's one of the most picturesque spots in the city with views of the historic Rocks neighborhood, the Harbour Bridge, the city skyline and even the ever-smiling and iconic face entrance of Luna Park across the river.

When you're ready to get going, this easy walk will take you along the periphery of the city's Royal Botanic Gardens. Be sure to stop from time to time to enjoy the beautifully framed view of the city's skyline, complete with the distinct Sydney Tower.

When you reach Mrs Macquarie's Chair, you'll be treated to a view over the Opera House and Harbour Bridge that is nothing short of postcard-worthy. If it fits into your schedule, try to time this walk in the late afternoon. The nearly setting sun casts a warm glow across the water and the Opera House appears in impressive silhouette.

On your way back, head directly through the Royal Botanic Gardens instead of along the edge in order to enjoy the vast multitude of interesting flowers, trees, fountains and more.
