Where's the Best Vintage Store in Brisbane?

Okay, let's get one thing clear – there's a difference between vintage stores and op shops . Op shops are typically volunteer run charity endeavours where one can rummage through racks of helter skelter clothing and bric-a-brac in the hopes of sorting trash from treasure. Vintage stores are retail outlets, usually owner operated, where remnants of a bygone era are lovingly sourced and displayed. Vintage stores prices are higher because someone's already done the searching for you.

Now that that's understood, let's take a look at some of Brisbane's premier vintage outlets.

WeekendNotes has already dedicated (metaphorical) column space to our writers top picks; BoxVintage and the delightfully named Bang Doll Vintage , both in West End, have rated a mention, as have Vintage Kitchen Vintage Closet in Coorparoo and Can You Keep a Secret? in Stones Corner. And in March last year, I wrote about The Best Little Vintage Van in Vegas , a pop up store that travels in an old fashioned motor home.

I've since discovered Bayside Antiques and Collectibles in Cleveland (162 Bloomfield Street). There's nothing trendy or ironic about this establishment; it's simply a store run by collectors, for collectors. It's also deceptively large, with loads of nooks and crannies to explore. An added bonus – genuine 1970s prices.

Vintage stores up sprouting up around our town like cane toads throughout the rest of the country, so it's over to you guys now – which one is your favourite?
