Don't spend the most romantic day of the year crying into your pizza-for-one or swiping right until you have sore thumbs. These fantastic events will get you out of the house and mingling with other singles.

[SECTION]Craft Singles Valentine's Day Special[/SECTION]
Impress other singles with your creative skills at the Craft Singles (get it?) speed dating event.

Participants will be given eight five-minute craft challenges, to be completed with another speed dater. After the timer runs out, it is time to move onto the next craft challenge with someone new. After the event, a list of your matches will be sent to you.

Tickets cost $60 per person, and includes drinks and pizza. The event takes place on the Friday evening before Valentine's Day.

[SECTION]St Kilda Festival[/SECTION]
This year, the main day of the St Kilda Festival lines up with Valentine's Day.

The main drawcard of Festival Sunday is the free live music across ten stages, and there is plenty else to do besides. With rides, entertainment, food and drink, it is the perfect way to have fun with your friends on February 14. You may even meet someone special at the vibrant annual event, which attracts hundreds of thousands of people.

[SECTION]Cupid's Undie Run[/SECTION]
Strip down and put your jogging shoes on- for charity! The annual Cupid's Undie Run on February 14 raises funds for the Children's Tumour Foundation. Participants pay a $60 entry fee, with many runners also fundraising for the charity. The run itself is fairly short, only 1.5 kilometres, and is more of a fun social event than a serious race.

Runners will be sent a pair of official Cupid's Undie Run underpants to wear for the race, which kicks off in St Kilda (coinciding with the St Kilda Festival). The event is a fantastic and active way to meet other singles, and if you do not meet anyone special, at least you have raised money for a worthy cause.

[SECTION]Real-life Tinder[/SECTION]
Speed dating meets Tinder at CitySwoon's unique singles' events. Attendees gather at the venue, where they will be presented with a series of potential dates on their smartphone. Go on a series of mini dates with your matches, then mingle the night away. There are separate events for those in the 25 to 45 age range , and 44 to 55s .

[SECTION]Singles on the Lawn[/SECTION]
Head to the pub where all the other singles are on Valentine's Day. Singles on the Lawn at Prahran's College Lawn Hotel is the trendiest place to be a singleton on February 14. Their resident band Johnny Wonderpants will be playing, and the first one hundred women to show up will receive a red rose. How romantic!

Keep up with who's going on the Facebook event page .

[SECTION]Go to a singles' meetup[/SECTION]
It turns out that Valentine's Day is overrun with singles' parties all around Melbourne, as everyone searches for their special someone.

Events include a singles party at The Deck in the city (free entry); an 18 to 35s singles party at Fitzroy's Perseverance Hotel; and an over-35s ' Gangsters of Love ' themed ball in Burwood ($30 entry). Check out singles' groups on Meetup.com for more Valentine's meetup events.
