Oakvale Wildlife Park is located at Bobs Farm, on the way into the Nelson Bay region. If you have young kids, this is a fun and interactive place to visit that will keep them busy all morning. There is a farmyard area with cute baby goats and sheep, where kids can feed the animals. There are also kangaroos on the property that you can feed, as well as a range of other animals to learn about. The best time to visit this attraction is in the warmer months, as they have a Splash Park included in the price! Take your swimming costumes and towels and leave them in the car, for the second half of your visit. See
here for details and

Irukandji Shark & Ray Encounters at Anna Bay has been in the region for several years and then moved to its brand new
Anna Bay site in 2020, with outdoor pools that visitors can paddle in and get up close and personal with the stingrays and marine life. This is a great experience for kids who want to be marine biologists. My daughter went here on a school excursion a few months ago, and is
still talking about how much fun it was! See
here for details.
The Stockton Sand Dunes at Birubi Beach are the largest moving sand dunes in the Southern Hemisphere and they provide a lot of entertainment for older kids! You can walk through them yourself, with access from the Birubi Beach Surf Club, or book a camel ride, quad bike tour or sand surfing experience! This area is very popular in the summer school holidays, so book in early. See
here for an article of all the things you can do at the dunes.
