Parkville is just north of the Melbourne CBD and is a mix of students and professionals. The area is known for parks, cafes, and The University of Melbourne.

The University of Melbourne was established in Parkville in 1853. A large number of terraces were constructed across the suburb in the 1870s and 1880s.

The suburb is home to a large number of students who attend institutions around the city, and affluent young residents and couples.

4. Are there sporting facilities?

Royal Park and Princes Park are both large areas used by a range of sporting clubs and groups.

Many restaurants are for students and staff at the University, and are not open in the evenings. However, there is a strong cafe culture in Parkville. Many locals head to Lygon Street or Sydney Road for better dining options.

The Capital City walking and cycling trail runs through the top of Parkville, and is a great way to get active, and escape the busy city streets.
