During the build-up, Darwin will have hot weather and a high level of humidity. At this time of the year, everyone will try to find the best way to beat this unpleasant weather. What is the best thing to do in Darwin during the build-up?

Don't have swimming pool? Don't worry! Darwin has some public swimming pools and swimming holes

You can stay indoors in an air-conditioned room. You don't have to stay home though, There are many places around Darwin offering 'cool' activity indoors, such as bowling or ice skating.

Don't go in the sea, no matter inviting the blue waters to look. Box jellyfish are more likely to be in the seawater during the build-up. If you want to cool yourself down by swimming and don't have a private swimming pool, you can find a public swimming pool or take a short drive to the nearest swimming hole. If you prefer to go to a natural swimming hole, please remember that insect repellent is essential as mozzies become very friendly during the build-up.
