The crisp and crunchy deliciousness of tempura vegetables is hard to beat. There is something so innately satisfying about these thinly sliced seasonal vegetables dipped in a light and airy tempura batter, gently lowered into hot oil and quickly deep-fried.
Almost any fresh vegetable can become the hero on a tempura platter, but firm vegetables are the most successful, such as green beans, sweet potato, eggplant, carrot, or zucchini. Tokyo Sushi even includes delicious tempura-coated fried onion on their plate.
Like so many people stuck at home last year, I tried home delivery for the first time. I stumbled across a cute little Japanese restaurant in Surfers Paradise called Fuji Sushi. I've never been there in person but I'm thrilled to say their delivery service via UberEats is awesome. The Fuji Box is something to behold, providing even the most fussy eater with a wide selection of Japanese dishes including sushi, sashimi, tempura, and miso soup. By going beyond the usual sushi selections, I discovered the crunchy deliciousness of tempura battered vegetables.
In 2021 whilst reviewing the Vibe Hotel I ordered Karaage which is not an exact answer to your question, but delivered to the hotel - I went to the trouble of tracking down my order from my past orders on my app, it was indeed there, the restaurant I ordered from was called Poke California at Surfers Paradise, they do Karaage, soy sauce beef, sashimi in little bowls called Poke Bowls yet no tempura vegies on their menu :(, however, for being so close to the required answer, I'm adding it here.
