Carlisle Street in Balaclava is a busy spot for busy people. With the trains, trams and buses constantly arriving and departing it becomes a street that relies heavily on getting a quick bite for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Here are three great options for food on the go when you're in a rush down Carlisle Street.
Glick's is a fantastic bakery. There's nothing like getting a bagel and a coffee to start your day. If you like something sweeter, Glick's has an array of mouth watering cakes and slices that will surely put you in a good mood before starting your day. The fact they also make a mean coffee is all you need to know to want to visit here.
With plenty of vegetarian and savory options, Glick's has something to suit everyone and it's usually with a smile included. In fact, I usually buy my bread from here anyway due to the fact it's so fresh and it is amazingly satisfying when you have a loaf at home. The perfect quick breakfast is definitely something that Glick's specialises in.
Lunch is always a tough one when it comes to a quick meal. I hate having that "I'm eating something I don't actually want" guilt when you end up getting something that makes you sick for the rest of the day. Feedmee is fast food you can actually rely on. It's quick, healthy and will keep you going for the rest of the day without making you feel bad.
They specialise in salads, spuds and soups where I have to recommend the "Muscle Builder" salad with lettuce, beetroot, corn, tomato, carrot, cucumber, Parmesan cheese with honey mustard dressing. What's great is that all the items are chocked with fresh vegetables and are filling where there's little hassle in ordering and getting in and out quickly to continue the day.

Rolls is a takeaway Japanese restaurant that would arguably be one of the best in Melbourne. Never have I heard of a disappointed customer. They make some of the best tofu I've ever had where everyone always asks "how do you make it so good?"
The Teriyaki Chicken is also a big hit where for how quick and cheap it is, it's no surprise how increasingly popular it's getting. This is one of those places you just have to try for yourself. It's a perfect takeaway dinner meal that will no doubt satisfy your hunger. The only downfall is that they close at 8pm, which seems a little early. Regardless, it is a great place to go!
