Supporting local businesses is critical during coronavirus lockdown. Most restaurants have a delivery service, so you can enjoy their culinary delights in the comfort of your own living room, without having to step outside.
My local favourite is
So Thai Tapas & Street Food , located at 25-31 Peel Street, West Melbourne. Their ten-page menu includes entrees, curries, rice and noodle dishes, as well as grilled and vegan choices (most under $20), but I can't resist the Chef's recommendation of Miang Pla Pao – the perfect Asian meal that is shared from a communal plate and eaten with your fingers.
[BREAK]
A whole Tilapia fish is grilled with salt and lemongrass (takes around 20 minutes), then packaged separately from the raw ingredients – vermicelli noodles, lettuce, fresh chilli, ginger, lime, onion, peanuts, and plenty of dill, coriander, and Vietnamese mint. Also included are dressing sauces – sweet, sour, and spicy. The generous portion is enough for 3-4 adults.
A dish that is fresh and healthy, with an authentic and splendid blend of Thai flavours when made to instruction. Simply take a leaf of lettuce in your hand, add some pieces of fish and any of the condiments, herbs you like (best to include all), drizzle with your choice of sauce, roll, and enjoy! I highly recommend it.
So Tai Tapas & Street Food has several coronavirus lockdown specials, including $12 dinner boxes, 15% off all takeaway orders above $30, and free delivery to 8 inner-city suburbs! Follow their
Facebook Page to find their latest offers, and check out the
menu here .
