Where's the Best Take-Away in Melbourne?

Home > Melbourne > Food and Wine | Questions
Writer's Answer:
Published August 2nd 2011
This question is open to all cuisines and what we are after is a listing of the very best take-away spots in Melbourne. Classic take away meals include fish and chips, burgers and fries, stir-fry noodles, pizza and kebabs.

To get the list going, here are a couple popular take away spots in Melbourne; Hot Chilli Thai Restaurant and Take Away located in Ascot Vale, Pizza Religion located in Hawthorn, EARL Canteen located in the CBD and Old Kingdom Restaurant and Take Away located in Collingwood.

Fast food franchises are also welcome; Noodle Box, Dominos Pizza Grill'd (Healthy Burgers), Sumo Salad, Mc Donald's and Hungry Jacks.

If you have a favourite spot in Melbourne where you indulge in take away and fast food, please let us know about it by leaving a comment below. Don't forget to let us know your favourite menu item as well.

We look forward to your suggestions.

Green Dragon on Malvern Road in South Yarra - great chinese food with fresh vegetables. Doesn't feel as unhealthy as some take-away can be!

Seeing as you also mention we can talk about franchises I want to mention KFC in Bacchus Marsh. If you are as old as me and remember when you were a kid and got Kentucky Fried Chicken for a rare treat, you know how wonderful it tasted. As with so many items as time went on and you got older things don't taste the same anymore. Well if you want KFC to taste like when it was still special and tasty and still had Kentucky fried in its name go to the Bacchus Marsh KFC where the chicken tastes as good as 30 years ago. Which is really unfortunate when you are a local and need to lose weight but know how delicious it is.
