Watching the sun set can be a simple solution for a romantic date, or a relaxing way to end your day. If you're in Adelaide there are some great spots for watching the sun go down. We know a few that always work a treat, but we want your tips on where the sunset is the best. Let us know where you think Adelaide's best sunset can be found.
The beach is the usual solution to a great sunset spot, and thankfully Adelaide has plenty to choose from. Starting at the Southern beaches of the Fleurieu Peninsula at
Victor Harbor ,
Port Elliot , Aldinga, and
Moana , up to the tourist strip at
Glenelg , and Henley, West, and Semaphore. Most of Adelaide's beaches make a lovely site, so really you can choose from whichever one is closest to you.
Away from the sea and sand are Adelaide's two favourite lookouts.
Windy Point , and the
Mount Lofty Summit . Both of these spots provide a stunning view over the whole of Adelaide. Take some time to not only sit and watch as the sun goes down, but as the city comes alive with the many street lamps that light the city. It can get quite chilly so make sure you've got a jacket handy.
For something different, try
hot air ballooning over
the Barossa , and perhaps you'll discover your favourite sunset spot amongst the clouds. There are a few companies that operate out of the Barossa, and you'll not only have the view of the vines and country towns, but most operate special sunset tours which show off everything in a whole new light.
You can watch the sunset while you dine at the
Top of the World Revolving Restaurant , not too far from the Glenelg foreshore. As the restaurant turns you'll see the sun set over the ocean, and night fall over the whole city. This is the place to choose if you like to see a sunset from every angle.
So let us know where you think we'll find Adelaide's best sunset. Do you have a particular beach where you like to sit at twilight? Or have you found an Adelaide rooftop that lets you see the sun go down on the city? We want your thoughts on the best place to watch an Adelaide sunset.
