A well prepared steak sandwich (or sarnie, thanks Mr. Oliver) is in a way, a work of art. Perfectly baked bread should hold together a juicy, tender steak (Angus is all the rage these days or spoil yourself with Wagyū), which is layered with delicate crisp lettuce, fresh tomatoes, sweet grilled onions, melted cheese, tangy relish and dijon or hot English mustard. Perhaps you may top yours which an egg, grilled mushrooms, beetroot or maybe even bacon.

In Sydney there are a several places to get a satisfying steak sandwich, but one particularly popular establishment is Ten Buck Alley, located at 185 Bourke Street. The WeekendNotes Sydney team has also recommended Vaz's Takeaway in Mt Pritchard, Lone Star Steakhouse and Salon, which has several locations in New South Wales and Hog's Breath Cafe, which also has several locations in New South Wales.
