Everybody loves a great steak right? Some people like them rare and bloody and some like them well-done and practically burnt but nothing beats a good steak dinner. There are many different types of steak such as marbled, aged, grass-fed, grain fed, Angus or Wagyu and so many different cuts. You can get a thick, tender, juicy and flavoursome steak at just about any restaurant or steak house but where is the best steak in Perth?
The Rockpool Bar and Grill, located within the Burswood Entertainment Complex offers a few steak options on the menu such as Rib-eye on the Bone, T-Bone, Sirloin on the Bone and Fillet. They are a bit expensive though - Wagyu Rib-eye Steak (200g) is $119.00 and the Rangers Valley Grain Fed T-Bone (450g) is $75.00 but they are char grilled to perfection and full of flavour.
The Old Brewery Steakhouse makes its own beer and ages its own meat. They have plenty of steak meals on their menu but they are famous for having Australia's Largest Steak - their Tomahawk Rib-Eye Wagyu, to be shared by two and hand carved at your table.
The BEST steak EVER (& I am 59 YO & eaten at many many places) is a place called Bella Vista in Bennett St East Perth. Without a doubt the Chef knew what he or she was doing and it was the finest cut of fillet EVER!! You must go and check this place out!! Bernie is the Maitre de and his attentiveness was second to none. It is connected with the Bailey Lodge/Motel. Simply mouth watering/mourish. Cannot recommend it highly enough. SUE MANNING
Cocos in South Perth. The O’Reillys lot fillet, at 250 grams, is manageable, and melts in your mouth. Served with potatoes & pancetta, whole grain mustard cream, and a red wine jus, this steak makes me celebrate the day I gave up being a vegan!
