Soy milk and coffee are not usually good friends – to get it right, a barista must use the right coffee with the right milk, depending on acidity levels, the temperature of the milk must be just so, and the pour needs to be exact (they make it look so easy) for the final product to be smooth and balanced. I've written this list to sort out just which cafes have got it right.

After two years of living in Melbourne, and countless hours spent people-watching, newspaper-reading and soy coffee-sipping in the windows of a diverse range of Melbourne cafes, this is the list I've compiled to help fellow soy-drinkers separate the curds from the whey, so to speak.

Just one little note - "Milk & Honey" should read "Milkwood". My mistake.

Do you have a list of cafes that do not charge extra for soy milk? As a soy milk drinker I am completely over being ripped off having to pay extra (sometimes up to 80 cents!). It actually isn't any more expensive than regular milk.
