Do you love to make smoothies each morning for breakfast? What is your favourite smoothie combination? Smoothies are a delicious way to start the day, especially if you can't face sitting down to a bowl of cereal, or you've eaten enough toast to last a lifetime!

I personally have had a small smoothie maker for a couple of years now and I must admit, that we usually stick to the basics. Frozen bananas and fruit are easy to throw in, however, we are on the lookout for more creative options to start our day - without having to buy too many obscure ingredients. If you have any delicious and easy smoothie combinations that you love to make, please leave a comment at the top of this article and share your top tips (they will then be listed under this article). These are my suggestions for the best smoothies to make at home - what are yours?

Choc Mint Smoothie
- Blend together 1 frozen banana, 1 cup milk, 1/2 tablespoon cocoa powder, 1 - 2 Tablespoons fresh mint (to taste).

Weet-bix Smoothie - Blend together 2 Weet-bix, 1 cup milk, 1/2 cup vanilla yoghurt, 2 Tablespoons honey, 1/3 cup walnuts. Blend for a couple of minutes to break up the Weet-bix and walnuts finely.

Peanut Butter & Banana Smoothie - Blend together 1 frozen banana, 1 cup milk, 1 Tablespoon peanut butter, 1 Tablespoon honey.

Lime & Banana Smoothie - Blend together 1 frozen banana, 1 cup milk, 1 cup vanilla yoghurt, 1 Tablespoon oats, 2 Tablespoons fresh lime juice and zest from 1 lime.

Raspberry & Oat Smoothie - Blend together 1/2 cup frozen raspberries, 1/2 frozen banana, 1 cup milk, 1/2 cup vanilla yoghurt, 2 Tablespoons oats.

Iced Coffee Smoothie - Blend together 1 frozen small banana, 1 cup milk, 1 cup cooled black coffee (made from 1 teaspoon coffee and hot water), 1 Tablespoon oats, 1 teaspoon vanilla essence. Adjust the ratios of ingredients to your taste.

Tropical Berry & Pineapple Smoothie - Blend together 3 tinned pineapple rings, 1 frozen banana, 1 cup fresh orange juice, 1/2 cup frozen raspberries.

Have you made smoothies to boost your immune system or reduce inflammation, with ingredients such as turmeric, kale, spinach, ginger or cardamom? I have tried a number of different recipes and unfortunately haven't found one which I like. Have you? If you have any smoothie recipes you would like to add to this list, with easy ingredients or immunity-busting healthy herbs, please leave a comment at the top of this article. You can never try too many!

Which smoothie recipe will you try tomorrow morning?
