In Adelaide we're slowly seeing some of our big bookstores closing down, thankfully there are some fabulous independent bookstores and also some brilliant second-hand stores. As someone who loves reading and loves owning books I often find that second-hand stores can be my favourite place to pick up books. I've got a few places in Adelaide that are my favourites, but I want to know yours as well.

** Antique Market
32 Grote Street, Adelaide**
When you make your way through the treasure trove that is the Antique Market you reach their second-hand books right at the very back. This is the perfect place to get lost and peruse the books for hours. This place is great if you're looking for classics, non-fiction, or Australian books. This is probably my favourite place to go looking for books, because I really do feel free to just explore to my hearts content.

East Avenue Books
53 East Avenue, Clarence Park
East Avenue Books is a delightful spot for a bit of book browsing. The small store is located in the suburbs just outside of the city, and it provides a good selection of new novels and classics. They also have a great selection of Australian authors. For the avid book collector you can also get your hands on some first editions and signed copies. This place has a really friendly environment, and staff who are only to willing to help you out.

The Rotary Book Exchange
Cnr Towers Terrace & Aberfeldy Avenue
The Rotary Book Exchange have got some great new books in a really good condition. They are also willing to accept books for exchange, that means that if you bring a book in to swap you can get half the value of it back off another book. The shop is manned by a mixture of paid staff and volunteers who will help you out with any queries. This place is best at stocking popular fiction.

** Maisie's Books
73 Jetty Road, Brighton**
This is a lovely little shop found on Brighton's Jetty Road. They have a really good collection of books, and friendly people to hep you out. You'll find some really nice cafes nearby, so I recommend having some tasty breakfast before having a browse. You could also pop in and grab a book to sit at read while you enjoy a nearby coffee. They have a great selection at really reasonable prices.

There are so many other great ones around, I couldn't even dream of naming them all. That is where you come in, and I hope you'll help us out. So have you found a spot I haven't mentioned that you just need to rave about?Or do you frequent one of these fine establishments?

Tell us all the goss on where we can fine Adelaide's finest second-hand bookstore.
