Sandwiches are a popular favourite for lunches, snacks and picnics and they have certainly changed over the years. Sometimes referred to as a 'butty', 'sarnie' or 'sanger' there are many variations when it comes to sandwiches, but where are the best sandwiches in Perth?

Probably the best known sandwich shop would have to be Subway. The very popular Subway sandwiches, or 'Subs', are made on freshly baked bread and have a wide choice of fillings that you can pick and mix as you like. You can choose from the menu board or design your own.

Fancy Fillings sandwich shops, located in Rockingham and Booragoon, offer a variety of gourmet sandwiches. The sandwiches are prepared freshly to order, just the way you like.

Miss Mauds Cafes serve fantastic club sandwiches. These super sandwiches are made to order and very filling. Jaylea's Patisserie and Lunch Bar in Willagee make fresh and tasty sandwiches to order.

Culley's Tearooms, a Fremantle favourite, make fresh sandwiches while you wait. If there's nothing on the menu that you fancy, you can choose your own combination of fillings or get a round of mixed sandwiches.

The franchise stores like Aroma Cafe, Caffissimo and Dome Cafe make a wide range of fresh and delicious sandwiches.

Perhaps you would like to try the Excelsior Deli in Shenton Park, South Beach Cafe in Fremantle, Mrs S in Maylands or Francois in Leederville.

These are just some of the places that make tasty sandwiches and there must be lots of other great lunch bars and sandwich shops around. If you are a sandwich aficionado and you know of a great place to get great sandwiches please let us know - where are the best sandwiches in Perth?

I bought a roll from The Boatshed in Cottesloe the other day and it was so good it made my knees weak.
I am also partial to the 'picnic packs' of mixed finger sandwiches from Miss Mauds.

One of the most delicious sandwiches I've eaten was from a rather unlikely place, the little deli/bottleshop that used to be a service station, at the T junction of Nicholson Road and Thomas Rds, in Oakford. There I bought a prepacked chicken, advacado club sandwich and although the wrapping made it look like any old prepacked sandwich, I found it to be soooo delicious that I felt it was fit to be served at the Queen's garden party. The bread was super fresh and the filling top rate. YUM! I I savoured every bite. I don't eat there regularly so I can't swear they serve the same quality every time, but I'd certainly eat there again, hoping to relive the experience!

The best sandwiches are definitely from the Re Store in Northbridge. They are made to order so you can select the roll to start with: white (soft or crunchy), wholemeal, grain or the Italian ciabatta. Then comes the filling, and the combinations are endless, too many to mention. The most popular is the mixed meat with extras you can choose, for example, cheese, marinated vegies, salads, etc. Everything is sooo fresh and delicious. And the price? - around the $7-8 for a roll that will satisfy the biggest appetite. Thoroughly recommended!!
